Is a Day Of Wedding Coordinator Worth It?

Day-of wedding coordinators can be so helpful and take a lot of stress off of the bride and her bridal party. There are a lot of logistics that go into the wedding day and having someone that can coordinate with vendors, the venue, and guests to make sure everyone is where they’re supposed to be, and troubleshoot any problems that arise can be beneficial. Many venues even offer this service as part of their package but if they don’t you’ll be able to find a freelancer or local company, if you so choose.

How to Have a Wedding Without Day Of Coordinator?

As we previously mentioned, having a coordinator can really help in the stress department. However, there are ways to act as your own day of coordinator and enlist the help of your wedding party and family members. For instance, having good signage to direct guests to the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception spaces, as well as where to sign the guest book, put their gifts, and find their name cards for the reception are all things you can have ready ahead of time and sitting out.

You may also designate a certain family member or bridal party member to greet guests and invite them to take a seat, or give them any required instructions.

However, forgoing a wedding day coordinator means you are likely going to be dealing with any problems that arise or fielding questions from vendors as they try to arrive, set up and later, tear down.

Why is a Wedding Coordinator Important?

A wedding coordinator helps with all of the details and actions that take place on the day of your wedding. A professional knows how to make sure everything flows before and during the event, and how to create a seamless wedding event.

Do Day Of Coordinators Decorate?

Many coordinators do, but you will want to speak to your coordinator ahead of time to make sure this is included if it’s important to you.

What’s the Difference Between a Wedding Planner and a Coordinator?

A wedding planner helps in the decision process as you make all of the selections for your big day. The wedding coordinator assists with the day-of tasks like set up, managing vendors on-site, and moving guests from ceremony to reception spaces, and more! Think of the wedding planner as someone that assists more leading up to your wedding, and the coordinator taking over when it’s game time for your nuptials so everything goes off without a hitch.
