Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, many bride to be’s are deciding that the show must go on and are opting to still throw bachelorette parties. While there are a ton of options still open and available during these troubling times, there are some precautions that should be taken to make sure you and your guests can have fun while staying healthy & safe.

Many brides have had to cancel their bachelorette parties during the coronavirus pandemic, or have made last minute changes. This can be super stressful and even overwhelming, but we have some great tips to help you keep your cool and get your plans in order.

First thing’s first, make sure to check the CDC’s current guidelines and the rules put in place in any area you’re considering having a bachelorette party. Guidelines and regulations are consistently changing, and different from one location to the next. Read up on the CDC’s website and look for local guidelines before finalizing your bachelorette party plans and of course, use your best judgement when making your arrangements.

Now, let’s get to party planning!

Hot Tips

  • Check all CDC and local guidelines before planning a bachelorette party where you live or in another location
  • If you’re renting a space or Airbnb, confirm that they are following CDC and local guidelines to keep the space sanitary and keep you and your guests healthy
  • If possible, choose rentals or make reservations where you can cancel up until the last minute (or close to it) in case conditions or guidelines change. Because of the current COVID-19 situation, the majority of places are offering full refunds and you may want to play it safe and choose one that does.
  • Bring plenty of hand sanitizer, sanitizing wipes to clean your rental space and frequently touched surfaces, and make sure you’re washing your hands before touching your eyes, mouth, or nose
  • Wear masks when it is required and appropriate – you can even get cute matching ones!
  • Of course, use your best judgement and if you feel sick, stay home!
  • Be understanding of guests who are not comfortable with in-person gatherings
  • Monitor conditions, CDC guidelines, and local regulations before and during your bachelorette party

Bachelorette Party Themes

Virtual Vino Night

For bachelorette party-goers that prefer (or need) to stay remote, host a virtual vino night! You can all get your own favorite wines to sip while you chat and play games over a Zoom call. Or you can surprise your girls with mailed (or dropped off) boxes that have a few small wine bottles and other goodies for you to all sample during your online party.

Backyard Bash

If you are foreseeing good weather where you live, a bachelorette backyard bash is an amazing way to be all together and celebrate while being out in the fresh air. Set up fun yard games like corn hole and ring toss, and get creative with your food selection. You could grill out, order pizza, cater in a local restaurant – which is also a great way to support your community – or just offer a wide array of finger foods, desserts and appetizers. And don’t forget the booze, we love a good signature drink!

Campout

More fun in the great outdoors! Camping is a great way to disconnect from the busy world and can be both fun and relaxing for you and your girls. Swap silly stories about the bride while you roast marshmallows and make S’mores, and don’t forget to bundle up for those chilly nights. It may be advisable to have separate tents so you don’t have to worry about swapping germs while sleeping, and besides, who doesn’t want their own space anyway?

Make sure your girls have some swag with a great glamping-worthy hat. It’s the perfect gift for pictures and protecting yourself from the sun and elements.

Outdoor Sweat Sesh

Not into a traditional bachelorette party but love fitting in your fitness? Sweat out those wedding day stresses with a workout with all your best gals in your backyard or the park. Make a whole day of it by starting with mimosas and brunch, then getting your sweat on. You can hire an instructor locally or attend a virtual class. Don’t forget yoga mats! We love these and they make the perfect party favors!

Backyard Movie Marathon

Rent a projector and break out the sleeping bags, chairs, blankets, and bean bags, it’s time for a backyard movie marathon! Watch bachelorette and bridal themed movies, or old favorites. You should also make sure to have lots of snack options for you and your guests to enjoy while you relax and enjoy the on-screen entertainment! Just make sure you aren’t annoying your neighbors.

We love these cute individual snacking ideas:

Craft Party

If 2020 has taught us anything, it’s that there are an infinite number of cute crafts that we could be doing right now! From tie dye lounge sets to making bracelets to creating your own custom home decor, there are so many cute and simple crafts that you and your girls can bond over while making.

Ice Cream Pajama Party

Does the bride to be have a sweet tooth? An ice cream party is the perfect way to make sure she has an uber-sweet party! Have each bridal party member bring a different topping and ice cream flavor, then set it all up on a cute decorated table so you can all create your own ice cream concoctions to enjoy! Don’t forget to wear pajamas for a cozy evening, we love these matching sets for your best gals:

Mixology Party

You don’t need to go to the bars to get a great drink! Host your very own mixology party and set up a bar at home. You can even take a virtual class together, or just follow your favorite recipes online.

Print up some cute menus, decorate your bar, and make sure you have all of the ingredients you need for some fabulous classics, or more interesting mixtures! Make sure everyone has their own special glass that they can take home as party favors too:

Pool Party

If you or a friend doesn’t have a pool, rent a local (or nearby-ish) Airbnb to host a big pool party! Wear matching swimsuits, relax on cute pool floats, and take lots of pictures while you soak up the sun with your favorite ladies.

These swimsuits and so much fun for a bachelorette pool party!

Don’t forget your pool floaties & party decorations!

Spa Party

Bring luxury and relaxation home with a spa party. If you’re hosting it in-person, you can visit a salon or hire professionals to come to your home and set up in your living room or out back. If you prefer a DIY version, you’ll want to have some pretty nail polish for pedicures, home-made facial ingredients, cucumbers to put over your eyes, and of course, mimosas!

Note: This idea can also be done virtually, just send out (or drop off) the items to your bachelorette partygoers and you can all use them at home while you jump on zoom call, chat, and play games!
