Rented Wedding Dresses

More and more brides are turning away from expensive wedding gowns for one day of their lives, and opting for a rented option. Renting a wedding dress even allows brides to have access to gowns that would otherwise be completely outside of their budget. Hello, dream dress!

There are several options for wedding dress rentals online:

Lending Luxury

Lending Luxury gives brides access to loads of designer gowns, along with offering fast shipping and easy returns.

June Bridals

Similarly to Lending Luxury, June Bridals has lots of designer options, as well as unique wedding dresses you likely won’t find anywhere else. They even have tons of options under $100!

Poshare

Poshare has so many stunning options, and even has couture dresses bridesmaids or the mother of the bride dresses!

Local

Depending on where you live, a lot of major cities now have wedding dress rental stores. This is great for brides that are looking for the “try on and find the one” experience, and the convenience of not ordering online and hoping for the best!

Sequel Weddings + Anniversary Receptions

After a year of lockdowns, as well as  guest number and travel limitations, many that tied the knot in a small ceremony or eloped will be planning “sequel” weddings or receptions on their anniversary.

Sequel weddings will be an entire wedding, whether it’s the one the bride pushed back from 2021 to a new date. Or if the couple got engaged and hadn’t begun planning their wedding at the time of the pandemic, who then opted for a micro-wedding or elopement, is not planning their big, dream wedding for the first time.

Another big trend we’ll see are couples that have tied the knot in their small micro-wedding celebrations scrapping the large, full-length ceremony in favor of just putting on a reception on their anniversary. This allows them to celebrate with family and friends, without completely re-doing the wedding entirely. It may also help cut down on costs for brides on a budget, or couples that want to save for a home, true honeymoon trip, or other experiences.

Alcohol-Free Drinks + Mocktails

Open bars have largely become the norm at weddings in years past. However, in 2022, with the  explosion of the alcohol-free drink industry, we predict more options at weddings that don’t include booze.

Now, we don’t mean soda or lemonade dispensers – we’re talking full-on signature mocktails that make guests who don’t drink (or just need to take a break after a few too many glasses of champagne) still feel like they’re part of the fun.

Nature-Inspired & Bold Colors

Wedding experts are predicting a combination of earthy color palettes and vibrant nature-inspired splashes of colors at weddings this year. For boho brides, or brides that want a more muted palette, rust and olive green are going to be all the rage.

Brides looking to make a statement or are big fans of bold color, may find themselves picking exotic colors like mango, buttery yellow, fuchsia and a rich ocean blue. These are becoming popular searches for 2022 weddings and are likely to be on full display for the weddings scheduled for this year!

Unique Cake Flavors

Gone are the days of simple vanilla and chocolate wedding cakes, in 2022 brides are choosing more unique flavors like champagne, coffee cake, and . They’re opting for a more one-of-a-kind experience that they can share with their guests and talk about for years to come.

Two-Piece Wedding Dresses

Two-piece outfits and sets have become super trendy and popular over the last couple of years and now it’s making its way to wedding dresses! Two piece wedding dresses are flattering, fun, and allow brides to customize their look even more, with many designers offering mix-and-match looks.

Having a two-piece wedding dress is also a brilliant way to shift your ceremony look into a different reception dress without having to completely change! We love the idea of a Hailey Paige Winona Skirt (below) for the ceremony, and then switching up with a more sleek option like the Jenny Yoo Oda Skirt (second, below)!

Love the trend but not sure you want it as your wedding dress? Incorporate it with one of your other bridal outfits, this could be your rehearsal dinner look, bachelorette party dress, or bridal shower outfit!

Backyard + Garden-Style Weddings

With backyard weddings having a major moment in 2020 and 2021 as a result of the pandemic and venues being on lockdown, it looks like this trend is here to stay. Backyard weddings and garden-style weddings are simple, romantic, convenient, and can even be more cost effective. Destination Weddings

In contrast to the continuation of backyard weddings, we’ll be seeing many destination weddings for the bride and groom that are looking for adventure! After most not traveling in 2020 and fewer taking trips in 2021 due to their health or safety concerns, many new couples will be wanting to create an exciting experience for their wedding. Destination weddings are the perfect idea for any couple looking for adventure on their big day!
